Jim Faulhaber opened his first shop in 1964, it was a two stall Texaco gas station with his partner Stan. He moved to 37th Street NW across from IBM in 1971 again with a two stall gas station adding a car wash and towing service. In 1977 he bought out his partner Stan and then in 1984 hired his son, Steve. As a growing business in 1987 he built a three stall service center adjacent to the car wash and food shop. In 1997 he sold the car wash/food shop and continued operating the service center. Then in January 2002 his son Steve purchased the business. Today Jim continues to help at the shop, but also enjoys his retirement with travel and golf.

Steve Faulhaber started working for his dad in 1984 at age 15 doing basic shop work and pumping gas. He has been active in stock car racing and enjoys classic cars. Over the years Steve has learned about the business side of auto repair from his dad and also technical skills from his longtime employees. He purchased the business from his dad in 2002 and continues to operate as Jim's Auto Care. His new location has four service stalls, an expanded waiting area and an added showroom for custom wheels and tires.

Gordie Briggs has been employed by Jim's Auto Care since 1968. He began his career in 1963 at a local service station in Spring Valley, MN and then in 1965 entered the US Army as a truck mechanic. Charlie Berg started in 1975 after attending Rochester Vo-Tech. He is in the process of restoring a 1948 Chevy pickup and enjoys fishing. Ron Henderson began in 2002, he brings 12 years of experience from a local GM dealership. Ron also does most of the towing for Jim's Auto Care. Ronda Albers was hired by her brother, Steve in 2003 after moving back from Oklahoma City. She keeps the front office running and shuttles customers to and from work.
